Meet Neema Sahni, one of our Judicial Evaluation Committee Co-Chairs, and Shafiqa Kureshi, Co-President-Elect.
Neema Sahni is a commercial litigation partner at Covington & Burling LLP in Los Angeles, where she represents a range of clients in the sports, media, and entertainment industries in high-stakes business disputes and counseling matters. Neema co-leads the firm’s Music Industry initiative, and maintains an active pro bono practice, including ongoing representation of the City of Los Angeles in sanctuary cities litigation. Prior to joining Covington in LA, Neema worked in-house at The Walt Disney Company in content distribution. Originally from Tucson, Arizona, Neema received her B.A. from Yale University and her J.D. from Harvard Law School. In her free time, Neema teaches a Bollywood dance fitness class, and enjoys having impromptu dance parties with her 3-year-old daughter and going on hikes and traveling with her family.
Shafiqa Kureshi is an is an Associate at Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Lowey’s Irvine office, where she focuses her practice on providing immigration solutions to high net worth individuals. Shafiqa has extensive experience with all employment-based visa categories, including investor visas (e.g., E-2 and EB-5), as well as family-based applications. Shafiqa has experience counseling clients from various industries, including tech start-ups, entertainment production companies and multinational companies, on all aspects of corporate immigration. She has prepared and filed nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions and responded to complex Requests for Evidence. Shafiqa speaks English, Hindi and Urdu.
