On March 15, 2019, at least 50 people were killed and dozens injured in a terror attack on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. We are heartbroken by this tragedy, and strongly condemn this senseless act of violence. SABA-SC extends its condolences to the victims and their loved ones, and stands in solidarity with the Muslim community.
Attacks like the one in New Zealand seem to be increasing in frequency and magnitude. Here at home in the United States, almost no minority community appears safe from acts of violence fueled by ignorance, hate, and racism. SABA-SC calls on all elected officials to unequivocally condemn the attacks in New Zealand and take meaningful steps to prevent future tragedies like this one.
SABA-SC grieves with New Zealand and the communities affected by this tragedy, and offers its support in this trying time.
