11:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Pacific) | Live via Zoom
The ABA Children’s Immigration Law Academy (CILA) invites you to a complimentary 1-hour webinar providing an overview of working with children in immigration cases. This is a presentation geared toward attorneys interested in taking on a pro bono immigration case, practitioners with a pro bono case, and practitioners new to immigration law.
The presentation by CILA attorneys will introduce key topics relevant to unaccompanied children’s immigration cases, including an overview of unaccompanied children, their unique legal protections in the immigration process, and some common forms of legal relief for children, such as asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS). Presenters will also provide an introduction to representing children in removal proceedings. The presentation will conclude with information on ways to get involved in representing children through CILA’s platform, Pro Bono Matters for Children Facing Deportation.
CILA has requested Minimum Continuing Legal Education credit by the State Bar of Texas Committee on MCLE in the amount of 1 participatory hours of credit.
